The SPECTRO-3-28-45°/0°-MSM-DIG-DL is a true color sensor designed for precise color, contrast, and grayscale detection using a 45°/0° measurement geometry and CIE-standard color evaluation methods (Lab*, LCh*, Luv*, L*u'v', xyY) . It features a 28 mm ± 2 mm measurement distance, integrated 24x D65-similar LEDs, a 3-color filter detector for “human color perception,” and selectable AC/DC light operation for either ambient light suppression or high-speed performance. The sensor supports up to 31 stored colors (48 in group mode), provides five digital outputs configurable as NPN or PNP, and offers RS232 communication for parameterization and calibration. With a rugged anodized aluminum housing rated IP64 and operating temperature range of -4°F to 131°F (-20°C to +55°C), it is suited for industrial environments. Typical applications include inline color verification in packaging and printing, paint and coating inspection, plastics sorting, label detection, and automated quality control in manufacturing processes where reliable true-color differentiation is required.
