Product Description
The SPECTRO-1-POF-IR is an infrared contrast sensor featuring an 860 nm IR LED, designed for use with POF Series plastic fiber optics in diffuse reflection (typ. 1 mm to 100 mm) or through-beam configurations (typ. 1 mm to 500 mm), depending on the selected fiber . It operates on +24 VDC and provides two digital outputs (NPN/PNP selectable, bright/dark switching) and one selectable analog output (0–10 V or 4–20 mA), with a maximum switching frequency of 60 kHz . The sensor offers 12-bit gray scale detection, adjustable gain, averaging up to 32,768 values, and AC/DC/OFF LED modes for high-speed operation and resistance to ambient light up to 5000 Lux . Housed in black anodized aluminum with an IP64 rating, it operates from -4°F to 131°F (-20°C to 55°C) and supports RS232 communication with optional Ethernet connectivity . Typical applications include contrast detection, counting, positioning, and detection of micro objects in processing stations, feed systems, and automated machinery, as well as monitoring luminous or highly absorbent objects when paired with appropriate fiber optics.
