Product Description

The SPECTRO-1-FIO-IR3 is a single-channel contrast sensor that uses a 1450 nm infrared LED and is designed for high-speed gray scale detection across a wide working range of 1 mm to 500 mm, depending on the fiber optics used. It is commonly applied in automation, packaging, printing, and electronics industries, where precise contrast or presence detection is essential—even under varying lighting conditions or when inspecting self-luminous objects. The sensor offers robust functionality including analog and digital outputs (NPn/PNP configurable), averaging over 32,000 values, and RS232 or Ethernet connectivity for parameterization and data logging via PC software. Its anodized aluminum housing and IP64 rating ensure durability in industrial environments, while temperature compensation supports stable performance between -4°F and 131°F (-20°C to 55°C). A wide range of compatible fiber optics and optical frontends enables flexible installation in both reflected light and transmitted light configurations, tailored for various materials and surface types.
