The SI-CON8-FIO is an electronic control unit designed for high-precision monitoring and evaluation of fiber optic sensors in the A-LAS series, specifically from the FIO family. It supports tolerance band monitoring, micrometer-range thickness and position checks, and features high trigger accuracy and a fast switching frequency of approximately 30 kHz. With configurable digital outputs (NPN/PNP, bright- or dark-switching), analog output (0–10V), and software-controlled laser power and threshold settings, it offers versatile integration into automation systems. The system is PC-configurable via RS232 or USB, but can operate independently in standalone mode after setup. Built with an IP64-rated anodized aluminum housing, it is well-suited for industrial environments. This unit is commonly used in automotive manufacturing, electronics production, packaging, and precision machining industries where high-speed, non-contact measurement and object verification are critical. Its ability to compensate for dirt accumulation and support real-time adjustments makes it ideal for demanding quality assurance applications.
