The RED-60-CLS series from Sensor Instruments is a high-speed reflective edge detector designed for precise detection of edges in materials such as paper, sheet metal, cardboard, and wires. It uses a Class 2 laser (670 nm) with options for either a focused laser spot (P-type) or a focused laser line (L-type), with a reference distance of 60 mm and a working range of approximately 50 to 80 mm. The sensor is capable of detecting edges as small as 0.02 mm and operates at scan frequencies up to 116.5 kHz depending on the mode, with digital outputs switching up to 60 kHz. Robust features include automatic adjustment for surface reflectivity variations (glossy/matte, dark/bright), external triggering, analog/digital outputs, and compatibility with RS232, USB, or Ethernet interfaces. This device is well-suited for printing, packaging, metal processing, and automation industries that require fast and reliable edge detection in dynamic environments.
