Product Description

The RED-55-P and RED-55-L are high-speed reflective edge detectors that use a visible red semiconductor laser (Class 2, 670 nm) to detect and count edges with precision, even on variable surface types such as glossy/matte or dark/bright materials. These sensors operate at a reference distance of 55 mm with a working range from 50 mm to 61 mm and feature a focused laser spot (RED-55-P) or a laser line (RED-55-L), depending on the model. Key features include automatic surface adaptation, a maximum switching frequency of 60 kHz, analog and digital outputs, and resistance to ambient light interference. Designed with rugged anodized aluminum housing (IP54 rated), they are suitable for industrial applications involving fast-moving or variably colored materials such as paper stacks, sheet metal, wires, welds, rotor blades, and similar edge-detection scenarios. These units integrate easily with PCs or PLCs via RS232, USB, or Ethernet, and support Windows®-based software for parameterization, diagnostics, and data logging.
