The SPECTRO-1-SLU-IR-SA with SI-SLU-IR-16 is a single-channel IR sensor system consisting of a receiver/control unit and a side light transmitter with 16 IR LEDs (680 nm), designed for high-speed intensity and opacity measurement using either the 0° or 90° method. It operates on +24 VDC (±10%) and provides two digital inputs, two digital outputs configurable as NPN or PNP (bright- or dark-switching), and one selectable analog output (0–10 V or 4–20 mA), with switching frequencies up to 60 kHz. The system supports AC, DC, or OFF LED modes for immunity to ambient light or detection of self-luminous objects, with 12-bit resolution gray scale detection and adjustable averaging up to 32,768 values. Parameterization is completed via RS232 (USB or Ethernet converter available) using Windows® software, allowing threshold configuration, automatic threshold correction, and standalone operation after setup. Typical applications include opacity and transmission measurement of films or sheets, edge and web monitoring, intensity control of LEDs or displays, and high-speed detection tasks in packaging, converting, and industrial process control environments.
