Product Description

The L-LAS-RL-40 is a reflected light line sensor designed to measure the position or width of objects with a typical measuring range of 40 mm at a reference distance of 3.94 in (100 mm), with a working distance of 3.94 in ± 0.39 in (100 mm ± 10 mm) . It uses a 512-pixel CCD line detector (1024 subpixel) with ring illumination consisting of 9 LEDs (white, red, blue, or UV depending on model), providing a typical resolution of 40 µm and minimum detectable object size of 0.2 mm. The sensor operates on +24 VDC (±10%) and features three digital outputs configurable as PNP bright-switching / NPN dark-switching (or vice versa), one digital input (trigger), and two analog outputs (0–10 V and 4–20 mA) for PLC integration. With a maximum scan frequency of 500 Hz and parameterization via RS232 using Windows® software, it supports standalone operation after setup. Typical applications include edge detection, width measurement of strips or webs, position verification of components, and dimensional inspection tasks in packaging, converting, assembly automation, and general industrial quality control.
