The SI-CON8 is an electronic control unit designed for use with A-LAS series analog laser light barriers, offering high-resolution object detection down to under 10 µm and switching frequencies up to 30 kHz. It features adjustable digital outputs (NPN or PNP), analog output (0–10V), and dirt accumulation compensation, making it ideal for precision applications such as thickness measurement, edge positioning, and 100% object checks. The system is configured using Windows® software (SI-CON8-Scope), allowing for full parameterization, signal recording, and standalone operation after setup. With an IP64-rated anodized aluminum housing and operation from -4°F to 131°F (-20°C to +55°C), it is built for durability in industrial environments. Industries that commonly use this sensor include automotive manufacturing, electronics assembly, packaging, printing, and precision machining, where high-speed, micron-level inspection or positioning is required. The SI-CON8 connects to PLCs, PCs, and A-LAS sensors via standard Binder Series 712 connectors, supporting flexible integration into industrial automation systems.
