Fast, Low-ΔP Gas Measurement with the P85 Thermal Mass Flow Meter

Fast, Low-ΔP Gas Measurement with the P85 Thermal Mass Flow Meter

Paquin is spotlighting our P85 Thermal Mass Flow Meter purpose built for direct mass flow measurement of dry air and dry gases—low pressure loss, fast response, and industrial I/O in sizes ½″–4″.

Built for: utilities & compressed air, nitrogen/natural gas measurement, water & power plants, semiconductor, chemical, food & beverage, and industrial HVAC

Delivers: ±1.5% accuracy, ±0.25% repeatability, ≤100 ms response, bidirectional measurement, and on device LCD diagnostics

Integrates via: 4...20 mA (with pulse), HART + pulse (0...5 kHz), or RS 485/Modbus, plus two programmable relays. Choose integrated (IP65) or remote (IP68) electronics

The Problem The P85 Solves

Gas utilities and process air systems need stable, calibrated mass flow across changing temperature/pressure conditions while minimizing pressure drop. P85’s thermal principle, fast response, and built in diagnostics provide reliable signals for energy reporting, leak detection, and control, without adding significant ΔP.

What’s New / Why It’s Different

  • Application focused media: dry air & dry gases with wide turndown.

  • Industrial grade connectivity: HART/4...20 mA/pulse or RS 485/Modbus, plus two isolated relays for alarms/batching

  • Rugged by design: 316L / Hastelloy C / Titanium wetted sensor; ANSI Class 150/300 flanges or NPT; IP65/IP68 protection; Ex d II CT6 Gb option

  • Operational features: auto zero, bi directional, low flow cutoff, programmable damping, and selectable engineering units

Applications

  • Compressed air & plant utilities: mass balance and energy KPIs
  • Nitrogen & inert gases: process control and consumption tracking
  • Natural gas: monitoring where thermal mass is suitable (verify gas composition/conditions)
  • Water / Power / Semiconductor / Chemical / Food & Bev / HVAC
